Webinar: Developmental Regression in Autism Spectrum Disorder

Date Published: September 27, 2022

In this recorded webinar, Dr. Robin Kochel describes changes in our conceptualization of regression – or skill loss – over time among children with autism, characteristics associated with regression, and potential implications for early intervention.

Who is Robin Kochel?

Robin Kochel, Ph.D., is a research psychologist at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital. She received master’s degrees in Child & Family Studies and Clinical Investigation from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and Baylor College of Medicine, respectively, and her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her expertise is in the study of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related genetic conditions. Since 2008, Dr. Kochel has served as site-PI for three Simons Foundation network projects, each yielding critical insights into the genetic mechanisms of ASD. Her involvement in these network projects have also contributed to her specific programs of research on parent perceptions about ASD and their influence on health-related behaviors, causes and consequences of developmental regression in ASD, and emergent vaccine hesitancy resulting from concerns about ASD.
